There are so many opportunities for sightseeing. From sunrise walks across Charles Bridge, to the sweeping views from Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral. Wandering through Old Town Square to see the Astronomical Clock or exploring the lanes of Malá Strana and Josefov. Taking a walk up Petřín Hill for it’s city views or a leisurely stroll along the Vltava river for the classic Prague experience. Prague blends centuries of history with a lively riverside city atmosphere.

Each INHSU conference program is carefully developed through a transparent, collaborative process that brings together community voices, sector expertise, and local and global perspectives.
Our aim is to deliver a program that is rigorous, relevant, and responsive to the real-world challenges facing people who use drugs, health practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and community organisations.
The conference will be held from 6-9 October at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, Freyova 33, 190 00 Prague 9 - Vysočany.
Please factor in location when travelling to and from the venue and when booking accommodation.

If you are unsure about what documents or visa you need, we encourage you to contact the Czech Embassy in your permanent country of residence. If your country does not have a Czech Embassy, please contact the nearest one.
We encourage you to submit your visa application as early as possible.
You can submit a request for a letter to support your visa application when registering for the conference. Visa support letters will only be issued when conference registration is paid in full.
Getting to Prague
Airport: Václav Havel Airport Prague is located approximately 20km from the Prague Central Business District.
Václav Havel Airport Prague does not have a train stop. The best way to get into the city is via bus or Uber. More information about transport from the airport can be found here.

Getting around Prague
Means of public transport in Cape Town include Bike-sharing, Taxis, Ubers, Trams, Buses and Metro.

The Czech koruna (CZK) is the currency of the Czech Republic. Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) are mostly found near shopping centres or outside banks. Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted almost everywhere, while American Express is only accepted at a few limited places.
In October, Prague experiences very mild autumn weather with average temperatures ranging from 4°C to 16°C. Showers and windy conditions are likely as the city transitions into winter.
In October, Cape Town’s time zone is Central European Summer Time (CEST) (UTC+2).
Like any major destination, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings and take basic safety precautions. Stick to well-lit, busy areas, especially after dark, and avoid walking alone at night in unfamiliar places.
Use reputable transport options like registered taxis, hotel shuttles, or ride-hailing apps such as Uber. Keep your belongings secure and avoid displaying valuables in public. By staying alert and using common sense, you can enjoy everything the city has to offer with confidence.

INHSU utilises Wordly, an AI-Powered translation software that allows you to access real-time audio and captioned translations for over 60 languages. You can access the Wordly platform via your personal phone, tablet or laptop by scanning the QR code available in each room at the conference.
Translation is available for the Community Day pre-conference workshop, and all sessions of the main conference program.
Please note, in order to be able to access the audio translation you will need to provide your own earphones/headphones.
INHSU aims to provide harm reduction services on site at the Conference. If you think you might need to access commodities such as Naloxone or needles and syringes, please let us know during the conference registration process so we can gauge need. Note, this information will not be shared with any third party.
