Pre-conference Events
Each year, we host additional events alongside the main INHSU conference. This year, these events include our Community Day, an EMCR & Community Networking Event, an INHSU Prisons Workshop and a Policy Day.

Policy Day, Monday 17th October

Invite only, the INHSU Policy Day will bring together Scottish and international policymakers, healthcare practitioners, researchers, people with lived and living experience of drug use and advocates to share best practice and experiences. This year will focus on establishing drug consumption rooms, highlighting challenges and successes to aid implementation & evaluation.
How to register: the Policy Day is invite-only.

Community Day, Tuesday 18th October
- 08:30 -16:00 approx.

- Free to attend and tickets available to non-conference delegates
- Glasgow Science Centre (5 minutes walk from the main conference venue)
The INHSU Community Day is a vital part of the INHSU Conference, bringing together people with lived experiences of using drugs and ensuring their voice is amplified during the conference and beyond. The day is organised by our Community Committee and this year focuses on peer involvement in hepatitis and health interventions including discussions on lived versus living experience and why both perspectives matter and how to mobilise networks on the ground

HCV Intervention Implementation Symposia, Tuesday 18th October

- Free to attend for conference and non-conference delegates
- Glasgow Science Centre (5 minutes walk from the main conference venue)
INHSU’s HCV Intervention Symposia will focus on the practical implementation of evidence-based interventions such as point-of-care testing, dried blood spot testing, peer support, patient navigation and case finding.
The Symposia will showcase good practice interventions and models of care in different settings, highlighting key research, challenges and learnings in a collaborative coaching environment, with the aim of supporting participants to develop or enhance their own HCV models of care.
This Symposia is intended for anyone interested in implementing or scaling up HCV interventions in their service setting including healthcare providers, community members and policymakers from a variety of local settings, e.g. primary care, D&A, corrections, outreach, homelessness, mental health, needle and syringe services & health departments.

Prisons Workshop, Tuesday 18th October
- 13:30 – 17:30 + networking till 19:00

- Glasgow Science Centre (5 minutes walk from the main conference venue)
INHSU Prisons and the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination (CGHE) will be co-hosting a half-day workshop adjacent to the 2022 INHSU Conference, to share global best practices for hepatitis care in prison settings and inform advocacy efforts for enhancing the capacity of the prison-based health system worldwide. The workshop will include presentations and interactive small-group discussion sessions including the popular ‘speed-geeking’ activity.

Scholarships: There are a number of full or partial scholarships for individuals interested in HCV care in prison settings globally, including policy makers, clinicians, researchers and people with lived experience of HCV and/or incarceration. To learn more and apply for a scholarship, click HERE.

Early-Mid-Career-Researcher and Community networking event, Tuesday 18th October
- 16:00 – 18:30
- In-person only
- Tickets available to conference delegates only
- Glasgow Science Centre (5 minutes walk from the main conference venue)
Open to all EMCRs and people with lived- and living-experience of drug use attending INHSU 2022, this networking event provides a chance to break down barriers and connect with people with interests in the health of people who use drugs. This event is scheduled ahead of the main conference to help build connections to last throughout and after the conference.
