Indigenous Scholarships — Canada

New for INHSU 2026, scholarships are available for people based in Canada who are nurses and/or trainees (currently studying or post-doc) and who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis).
These scholarships are supported through a grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Each full scholarship includes:
- Conference registration
- Return economy flights
- Accommodation
Applications are reviewed by an independent panel. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid-May 2026. All applicants are required to complete the application accurately and to notify the Conference Secretariat if their circumstances change.
Eligibility details
Applicants must:
- Be based in Canada
- Identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis)
- Be a nurse and/or a trainee (currently studying at any level)
- Hold a valid passport that expires after 1 February 2027
- Scholarship recipients must be able to attend the full INHSU conference in Prague from 6–9 October 2026
Application details
As part of the application, you’ll be asked to confirm details of your eligibility and answer two written questions (up to 500 words each):
- Why attending the INHSU conference is important to you and your work with people with lived or living experience of drug use
- How you plan to share or apply what you learn with your colleagues or community
