INHSU welcomes two new board members

At the 2020 General Assembly Meeting (GAM) in late 2020, INHSU welcomed two new board members – Ann Eriksen and Andrew Scheibe. The GAM also saw Alain Litwin and Håvard Midgard step down from the board after many years of valued service.

Ann Eriksen, located in the United Kingdom, is NHS Tayside’s Executive Lead for sexual health and blood-borne virus. NHS Tayside’s governance includes three major hospitals alongside a number of community hospitals. It also includes over 60 GP surgeries and a variety of health centres staffed by thousands of employees of the health region.

Dr Andrew Scheibe, located in South Africa, is a medical doctor by training who works in harm reduction research, programmes and policy in South Africa and the region. His work focuses on the intersections between infectious diseases, determinants of health and rights. Andrew is currently technical advisor for TB HIV Care and a researcher at the University of Pretoria.

“2021 is set to be an important year for INHSU,” says Jason Grebely, INHSU President. “As we move into the broader area of drug user health – alongside hepatitis C – Ann and Eriksen and Andrew Scheibe’s expertise will be invaluable.”

INHSU would also like to say a huge thank you to Håvard Midgard and Alain Litwin, who are stepping down from the board after many years.

Håvard played a key role in developing our strategy and was integral in the hugely successful INHSU conference in Norway,” says Jason. “Alain has played an integral role in shaping INHSU’s strategic direction and worked with us for many years. We thank you both for all of your collaboration and support.”
